A positive end to McLaren's test

Lewis Hamilton was again behind the wheel of the MP4-26 in Barcelona on Monday, spending the majority of the day focusing on tyre development over a series of long runs. The 2008 World Champion racked up 107 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya, which is the MP4-26's highest mileage covered in a single day. “It was very encouraging to log over 100 laps with MP4-26 today – an impressive conclusion to our four days in Barcelona." said McLaren's test team manager, Indy Lall "We’re still working through a very lengthy development programme – today wasn’t about pure performance, it was about conducting a disciplined series of long-runs – but it’s been a positive end to our test here.” McLaren along with all the other F1 teams will return to the Circuit de Catalunya to part take in the final pre-season winter tests from the 8th to the 11th of March, after it was announced yesterday that due to the current political unrest in Bahrain that the final pre-season winter test, which were scheduled to take place at the Sakhir circuit had been cancelled, along with the postponement of the Bahrain GP.
