Alonso sets pace in first morning test

Fernando Alonso set the early testing pace in Valencia on Tueday morning, as the majority of the teams began the first official pre-season tests in their 2011 championship challengers. In the first session, there were no major on-track incidents to really speak of, other than when Nico Rosberg stopped his Mercedes W02 out on the circuit. Alonso completed 46 laps of the Ricardo Tormo circuit, whilst second quickest man of the session and current world champion Sebastian Vettel completed 19. Meanwhile, Nico Hulkenberg had his first official outing as Force India's new reserve and test driver, completing 29 laps of the Valencia circuit, and taking the third fastest time of the session.
