Dennis: Whitmarsh Better At Managing Champions

Executive chairman of McLaren Automotive and McLaren Group and ex McLaren team principal, Ron Dennis has said that current team principal Martin Whitmarsh is better at managing two world champions in the same team than he was. Dennis, who was team principal of McLaren up until 2009, was speaking with F1i Magazine when he made the comment: "Managing the co-habitation of two world champions is often a challenge. "I have tried it a few times. Martin is perhaps showing himself to be better than me at that role." Whilst team principal at McLaren, Dennis took on some very famous team mate parings, including Niki Lauda and Alain Prost. Although, the Prost and Ayrton Senna duo, and their team mate rivalry is still considered to be one of the biggest in Formula One's history. Furthermore, Dennis was again in charge when Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton came to blows in 2007. McLaren now has Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton at the team, and so far with Martin Whitmarsh in charge, the two British champions have cooperated well.
