HRT Team up for sale?
Despite new investment from former Telefonica boss Juan Villalonga, it would seem that the HRT team is up for sale according to the Spanish sports newspaper AS AS reported: "It is evident that if Carabante finds a buyer he will dispose of the team," The struggling Spanish team, have parted company with partner Toyota Motorsport, leaving them with no car, no base, no drivers and no sponsors, just a Cosworth engine. Although Juan's investment has led to talks with potential investors no deals have been made yet, and espnf1.com reported "Jose Ramon Carabante and his equity partners have put the team up for sale". Adding that if the team chose to go back to the 2010 Dallara-designed car, then this would leave their drivers victim to the new 107 percent qualifying rule. Which in turn would put the team in an even worse state of affairs than in the 2010 season. HRT are still yet to confirm their two drivers for 2011, with team boss Colin Kolles stating he is in no rush. Speaking with 422race.com Kolles said "We are not necessarily in a hurry, the deadline is three days before the first race," Kolles also spoke about the 2011 car: "We will have one. And we are in the process of manufacturing it."
