Kubica wants Liuzzi to replace him

Renault are still to announce who will replace injured Robert Kubica for the start of the new season, and reports suggest the delay is due to Kubica pushing for Tonio Liuzzi to replace him. Liuzzi, is a close friend of Kubica, and was one of the first to visit him after his terrible high speed rally accident. Liuzzi also doesn't have a drive for 2011 after he was released by Force India at the end of the 2010 season, even though his contract was due to run to the end of 2011. Even so, Nick Heidfeld still looks favourite to take the seat, after his impressive performance at his evaluation by the Lotus Renault GP team at the Jerez winter tests last week. But ESPNF1 report that the delay in the team's announcement of who will replace injured Kubica and drive for them alongside Vitaly Petrov this season is due to Kubica pushing hard for Tonio Liuzzi to replace him instead of his former BMW team-mate, Heidfeld.
