Vettel International Racing Driver of the Year
Sebastian Vettel named the International Racing Driver of the Year at the Autosport awards held in London on Sunday evening. Vettel, who became the youngest Formula One champion ever this year, said: "We had a very special night with the guys from the team in London. It's been great to be back with them and to be able to celebrate this properly," Meanwhile the Red Bull RB6, which helped the young German driver clinch his first world title won the car of the year. Whilst the McLaren F-Duct won the Pioneering Award. Other winners at the award ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, included Kamui Kobayashi, who was named rookie of the year. Sir Jackie Stewart and Rubens Barrichello, both won the Gregor Grant Award in recognition of their lifetime achievements in the sport. Stewart said: "I knew Gregor, another Scot and a great storyteller, well, so to get this award is an honour," Formula Renault UK runner-up, Lewis Williamson, was another Scottish driver to walk away with an award, netting himself a test drive with McLaren, as well as £100,000 to help further his career by winning the Autosport BRDC Award.
